When does the Ice Rink open?
The rink will open Wednesday, November 9, 2011 and remain open through Monday, January 16, 2012.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. (except on December 31, when we close at 9:30 p.m.)
How long is each session?
Each session is 90 minutes and starts on every even hour.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children eight and under.
How do I purchase tickets?
You can either buy them at the Ice Rink ticket window, or pre-order them by clicking here.
Do you have group rates?
Yes, we do. If you have 15 or more in your group, the discount is $.50 per person. If there are 25 of you, the discount is $1 per person.
Can I rent the rink for a private party?
We do rent the rink out for private parties. Just click on our “parties” link for the details.
Can I bring my own skates?
Of course! However, if you do need to rent them, the fee is $5.
How do I get there?
The rink is located on the corner of Geary and Powell, in the heart of Union Square.
If you’re driving, signs lead to Union Square from most area freeways. Walking from North Beach or Chinatown, take Grant Street south through the Chinatown gate to Maiden Lane and turn right.
On BART from the East Bay or southern San Francisco, get off at Powell Street station. San Francisco Muni bus lines 30 and 45 go there, as do the Powell-Mason and Powell-Hyde cable car lines, and historic trolley car “F” line stops nearby at Market and Powell. Tip: if you’re taking public transit, use the city’s transit trip planner.
Is there parking in the area?
Besides being accessible by Muni, Bart and even Cable Car, the Union Square area has many garages to facilitate your visit. Below is a list of some of the garages with their rates (subject to change).
